This one had several variations and no one seems to know when the changes occurred. The original had an open grill and this one has the closed off grill. So I would say this is the second version. Later on when it became a black wheels model the wheels were changed to wire wheels with black tires. This has gray knobby tires. The model was produced from 1960 through 1964 so I shall take an educated WAG of 61-62ish.
The originals were made from 1954 through 1957 and was designed to win the 24 hours Le Mans race. It had a straight 6 engine of 3.4 liters and increased to 3.8 liters. One did win the Le Mans race in 1957. So Jaguar completed what they set out to do and it was all good.
