I picked these up recently not knowing if they are something that was Homemade/DIY. Or if not, what are they?
I envision them once used on a desk to "hold" papers, but I really don't know (I'm no expert on antiques, so...).

They're wonderful! More info please. Any marks? Are the figures metal? If so, how heavy? Like cast iron? Are they too small for door stops???? If you push down on the back of the "ramp" does the front part raise up so that papers can be inserted and "held"--as you suggested?
No marks. The wood base measures 6" long by 2.75" wide. I'm not sure what the figures are made of, but I think they are aluminum because they are not magnetic, not heavy, yet it looks like metal where the paint is showing through. And yes the front raises, there's a tiny spring assembly underneath, the mounting point is a pivot point, so it does operate like a clip. The whole thing weighs 9 oz (the dog piece) and 7.5 oz (the ducks piece).
