I just received a new décor of this documented shape and thought I would post a group shot of my current collection for comparison. I enjoy collecting a particular shape with as many different decors that I can find. The third picture is courtesy of Craig...he has compiled (at this point) pictures of all the known decors of this shape...but I am sure there are more to be discovered. The last shot was just for fun... :)

When you see group shots of a shape like this, it really brings to light how aesthetically unique some of the Welz Deco Era décors really were.

I wanted to add that I think that having images like this available for collectors to study is important. One of the reasons is that it allows for the subtle differences seen in the same shape, as a result of different molds and hand production, to be seen, evaluated, and understood.
Plus, Tom's photography and collection are just really nice to look at!! :-)

Images like this is why we collect. I too, agree welzebub, that with Tom's pictures we get to witness what we otherwise may not know is out there, or in a book. This entire website gives us collectors something to hope to discover in thrill of the hunt, or to obtain for ours ourselves. Thanks for the show.

I agree Belmont...this is a great forum to show and share so that we can improve the hobby, share knowledge, share pictures and bring more interest to the collecting of this awesome glass. Its too bad that they delete postings just because an item may be listed forsale...it erases everything shared and learned about that item.
