    (202 items)

I researched "Hoole" Machine and Engraving works New York, because the stamp tools were labeled with the name. The Hoole company was a bookbinding company. I guess it could be bookbinding tools. I purchased all of the items in a $2.99. Chime in, I need the help.

You’re right they’re tools used in bookbinding. Fillets (with the wheel head) are used hot for impressing lines either blind or in gold usually on leather covers. An awl for making holes, decorating stamps to be used hot like the fillet. You have band nippers for nipping up bands on leather spines, dividers and leather paring knives. You got them for a bargain! Love them!

Zilla, thank you so much! I just bought a bag not knowing what was inside. I absolutely love the stamps.

Beautiful tools from a dying art! Did you find this website? I’m sure they’ve got more info on the company:

Yes Zilla, I found the website. I just didn't see identifying pictures, to verify the age of the tools. All of the tools, of course, are not Hoole, so I am still researching. Thank you so much for your help.
