Here is a 5 1-4"H emerald green glass doe with bent leg and oversized ears that is reminiscent of the Pilgrim deer style. By Kanawha Glass, item #11 from their 1980-1981 catalog

When I first seen this in the thingumabob my reaction was 'what is this strange creature?!!! Her ears are so BIG!!! And she's so GREEN!... Her pose sort of reminds me of a George Jensen brooch I've seen before? She could spring up at any moment!

Jenni, do you have a single display for all your glass animals? I bet the colors all together look great :)

Thomas, it does appear to be staring straight ahead lol! I tried to get a good angle to show it's a deer not a bunny with those oversized ears :) You are absolutely right, the Kanawha Glass co was based in Dunbar, West Virginia near the K river, as were many of the famous American glass makers including Viking and Pilgrim. Many thanks for your cheery & great comment

Aw Eileen, thank you for the really sweet words & compliments, I'm so happy you liked her and the emerald green glass, I love that shade of green too - it is harder for me to find glass animals in the emerald than olive or avocado green, maybe those greens were more popular in the 60s-70s to correspond with kitchen appliance colors back then. Also glad to find a female of the species, she was named "doe" so we do have a lady here lol

Right Lauren, aren't the ears humongous!! If you look back thru my previous glass posts, there is a deer called Bambi by Pilgrim Glass from the 1970s that this one is sort of modeled after, the ears were slightly big but these are really exaggerated, almost like a bunny's. The neck and body though are pretty deer like, so Kanawha gets away with artistic license here :) Love your comment as always, thank you

MrsT, I have several display cabinets that I keep the glass animals in, which have glass doors so they are protected from dust but still in view, and I try to mix up the colors so they look prettier & rainbow-like when the sun hits them in the afternoon. Great comment, thanks so much

      Always greatly appreciate the love
