I've had so much good luck on eBay AU lately, & this is one of my best buys ever. I thought the bidding would run super hot on this, but the competition was minimal, meaning that it was rather cheap...
It also arrived extremely fast from Tasmania!
This is a shell vase by Kralik, from the Art Nouveau era. It is made from milky opalescent glass with applied trailing in pale green. The vase sits on an applied green base of a strutted form, & the entire piece is iridescent.
It measures 16 cm tall, around 7.5 cm across the top rim, & 9 cm across the base.
Congrats! Great buy, great photos, a beautiful piece. ebay changed the face of collecting, mostly for the better, in the early 2000s.. A blessing and a curse..
I really love how the trailing over the bulbous opalescent flower gives it the extra. It's beautiful.

Thanks also, Karen, & nice to hear you've been "up the hill". Yes, it's getting busy up here again, that's for sure...good for the local businesses that have already been struggling since the fires & floods earlier this year. Hopefully people will be sensible & not spoil the good effort we've all been making to keep the situation under control!
