This 2" scorpion brooch has striped black enamel, a white rhinestone head & two green eyes, on goldtone. By Gem-Craft of Providence RI, founded in 1945, this piece with craft & copyright mark dating it 1970s

Beautiful scorpion you have! I’m not really a fan of those creatures but I’ll readily agree they make awesome pieces of art, design and sculpture- black is the best color for him, it makes him all the more realistic and formidable looking, curled tail makes him appear as though he’s going to sting soon!
The combination of colors really sets this off.I agree with Lauren and you better keep an eye on this in case it came from the set of the Scorpion King and starts crawling around.You might have to call the Rock.
Beautiful. My mother was a Scorpio. I was always buying her scorpio related items. In fact her birthday is tomorrow.

Phil thank you for your fantastic compliment, it is rather a beautiful design for a kinda scary creature. I think Gem-Craft softened its look and gave it a nice appearance
Thank you Lauren for your super praise and me too, not a fan of these large bugs - we had one that got loose in one of our early apts (probably another tenant's pet, ick) and I was terrified, finally captured it in a plastic bag, so afraid of its deadly sting! Black is really best to show its drama, but this also came in a white version & I think the most common real color is a transparent beige to blend in with its surroundings
Thanks jb for your fabulous comment, wasn't Scorpion King a cool movie, the Rock has always been one of my husband and my fave actors ever since his wrestling days during the "attitude era" - nobody could do a backflip like him!! Do you know, I read he might consider going into politics, nobody better cross that guy :)

My dad was a Nov BD Scorpio & true to his water sign he was a Navy man during Korea & almost made a career of it, he loved traveling to the Far East in the service

Mary Happy October BD, you're my favorite Scorpio lady & I'm really glad you liked this scorpion brooch - they're getting very hard to find by designers & was lucky on this one - it was also made in white enamel but I thought the black more realistic. Hope you had a terrific BD, my cousin was born right on Halloween but she is rather past being called the "Halloween baby" lol!!
