This is a much larger than usual fairy lamp. You can compare it with the most common size (also Welz) in image 2.
Image 3, shows the Welz air intake method, two arched cuts from the base of the shade/dome. This is different from the patented S. Clarke method. It is however compatible with the S. Clarke method.
Image 4. shows it with other Welz pieces in the same décor.
Thanks to the help of Deuce Sapp, and members of the Vintage Fairy Lamp F.B, group I can say that this shape was also made in white spatter on a yellow ground, a blue ground and a green ground.

Yes Penny and such a nice change from some Welz décors which played to the dark colours so popular in Victorian times.
So much wow factor going on with this one, & the large size makes it extra special. And it's pink...don't we all love a nice bit of pink glass, always so cheerful to behold!
I have a blue spatter Welz lamp cup which needs a dome (it came with a mismatched satin glass one).
For years I avoided pink at all costs as it had been part of my school uniform. However I have been converted by glass. Good luck with finding the Welz blue spatter dome.
And I avoided blue for years as my school uniform was blue! But I grew to enjoy it again & now I love to wear it & decorate with it too. Funnily enough, I taught for a while at a school that had a green & pink uniform, which though a pleasing combination in both nature & glass, is definitely not in clothing!
