This 3 3-4"L crested tropical bird brooch has a multitude of jewel tone sequin-type rhinestones, with tiny white AB stones on breast & crown, and blue & green enamel accents, in a goldtone setting. By designer Suzanne Bjontegard with her typical 80s flair

Such a beautiful sparkly bird! I have not heard of this designer before so will have to take a better look at her pieces. Just amazing.
The colours achieved are so gorgeous with those tones and the ab seems perfect for this wonderful parrot !~
That's such a beautiful brooch, makes me think of warm tropical islands and really hot jungles! His body is so eye-catching too, it's absolutely packed with gems and stones, and each of his little combs/feathers is in really good condition!

Dawn thank you for your super praise, yes Ms Bjontegard's pieces are full of sparkle due to those unusual reflective stones. Not much known about her background except she started her jewelry business in San Diego CA in 1985, but she made many gorgeous designs & I've always been a big fan (posted her cockatoo here)
