At a Fair here in Sydney a few months ago I bought this little vase because I thought I recognised it as a piece of Solomon Reich. But I was wrong and I had misinformed the seller who might well see this post on C.W.. Returning home that day I began my fruitless search for it among the Reich glass on the net. I put it away and having just returned from a trip to Singapore I began searching another piece of glass that is probably from the town of Haida - another post to come. During my search I was led to an article on Loetz.com by Dr K. M. Hasselbach entitled 'A Study of Loetz Cut Glass Production'. Within the article there are photos of some vases with a decor similar to my vase which he describes as 'Modern' - some of them on known Loetz shapes. One of them has a signature of a combined 'OL'. Dr Hasselbach describes these vases as having "the same geometrically etched décor of dark blue, ruby red or light green glass on Crystal, respectively. Small triangles or squares are cut out and polished." He also added : "the acid etched merged capital letters for Oswald Lippert (1908-1992), who made designs for the 'Fachschule Steinschönau' (1920-25), here published for the first time that he used Loetz blanks."
Interestingly my little vase is a miniature and is 'ruby red' over 'Topas'.
H : 6.5 cm or 2.56"
W : 6.5 cm or 2.56"
W (at rim) : 5.5 cm. or 2.16"

Beautiful piece. Congratulations. I think it is a pure Loetz glass product. Oswald Lippert may have designed it for Loetz.
A small vase with great presence and beautifully photographed.
I love the size of it and the detail is close to perfection !~

Thank you for posting this vase. As commented by Ales, I strongly support, that the vase is orignal Loetz, the' OL' signed vase in my article on 'Loetz Cut Glass' refers to a very special example. Thank you for reading and quoting it.
Thanks so much KAIROMALTE !!! I am indebted to you for your research over many years.
This is fantastic Kevin, what a find! So classy. Was this from the February fair?
(I got nothing from that one, had to go shopping in Newtown instead!)
Many thanks DAV2 & IRONLACE.
Not from the February fair Marin. We were on holiday somewhere between here and there on a cruise ship. It was the one before I believe. Forced to Newtown …. that really is a worry, LOL !!!!
Ha ha! :-)
Newtown is often my back up after Wenty. I did pick up a little Rindskopf & an unknown Art Nouveau vase there in February!
Well I should probably reassess Newtown then. These days Wenty wears me out and I just head home to Darlo to recover and research. Others head off to Rozelle I hear.
Many thanks BEYERMANN for the Love !!!

Many thanks SEANB for your Kind Comments !!!!
Many thanks WELZEBUB & INKY !!!
