I was so happy to get these books today. A lady near me had posted these online for sale and I went and picked up. I bought these four and one additional. I had never heard of this artist and started doing a little research. Although, these books were remade in the last 10-15 years, they are pretty pricey. Plus, these books are in excellent, Like new condition with stunning pictures throughout. The Folio Society came out with a set of multiple volumes and each book was a different color. If you research some of the more rare colors like crimson, it sells for several hundred dollars for the one book. The ones I got go for $50-over a $100 per book. I paid 20 for all the books. They are gorgeous and I plan on hanging on to them for a while.

Beautiful illustrations, the woman holding the dog reminds me of the Mona Lisa. Are these all original fairy tales, or reissues of old classics

Newfld, the graphics and bookcovers are gorgeous. These books remakes from over 100 years ago. Most of what Lang and his wife included, I think were retold fairy tales.

Thank you very much MrsT, I'll have to check these out cause I love fairy tales even as a grown up, probably because one of my grandmas (born in Italy) loved to tell us stories, makes me nostalgic - Jenni

I have a feeling that my Mum has an old copy of The Brown Fairy Book, by Andrew Lang. I don't think it's nearly as beautiful as these books though.
