Thanks to all that have commented, much appreciated. We all have our different ways of approaching this time of year, & find different meanings in it. For the record I am not religious, & personally I view this season as one of reflection on the past year & spending time with those who are important. I'm not going to pass any judgement on anyone, as I am probably the kind that some people prone to making such judgements might judge harshly (look closer at the non traditional ornaments on my tree & you might understand).
At the moment there are fires burning all around where I live, & it may be that I lose my home & all my collection. Life is short, so make the best of it while it's in your hands.
No matter your beliefs or mine . Enjoy seeing your collection and I share your passion for collecting. Your right life is sort so please consider Gods free gift at this Christmas time . Purvis

I love everything about your tree—a black star above a white tree—it instantly identifies it’s owner as unique, quirky, fun-loving with discerning taste.
My favorite ornaments are the huge medication capsules....like a note to self: “take the meds to get better but keep a great attitude, all the while”.

Many thanks, welzebub, the last few days have brought calmer weather conditions & an important opportunity for firefighters to manage the situation. We're due for more hot & windy weather over the next week, & let's hope we can ride it out. Just hanging out for some decent rainfall...
Thanks also, Watchsearcher...the star was hot pink originally but I painted it black in honour of David Bowie's last album, Blackstar. The capsules are called "chill pills" which I found most amusing. For those anxious moments that we all have from time to time...& every year I buy a few new ornaments that fit in with my aesthetic.
