    Memento Mori Skull Pendant
    Sicilian (?)
    Circa mid 1700s

    Fabulous memento mori skull pendant carved from coral, probably Sicilian, mid-18th century. The well-modeled skull has a rose-cut diamond serpent entwined around it, symbolic of death and eternity. It is 1 and 1/8 inches in height, with a circumference of 3 and 1/4 inches.
