In Ricke's Loetz book a glass with the decor in Ausfuehrung 1 is missing. This alone is a sign of its rarity. You do not find an example in the Passau museum neither in the new Loetz exhibition in Klatovy (Klattau). I have seen only one example in many years. The first picture was taken at an auction preview in Germany and shows Production No. II-4484 in Ausführung 1 from early 1907. The German designation is “kristall dichtgesponnen”, crystal tightly spun. According to the Series II patterns many of the vases executed in Ausführung 1 had also been produced in Ausführung 3: “kristall glatt mit kristal wagrecht & senkrecht gesponnen, mit Gold-Krösel-Batzen”, crystal glatt with crystal spun horizontally and vertically, with gold frit prunts (picture to the right). Both, Ausführung 1 and 3 show the prunt like appliqués, whereas Ausfuehrung 2 consist of the same design as Ausführung 3 but without the prunts.
A number of variants of this decor was used for lamp shades (Ausführung 6, 7, 11, 12). Ausführung 4 and 5 show the same type of Ausführung 2 and 3 threading, but with colored drop prunts (pearls).
From left to right:
Vase, Ausführung 1, crystal threads tightly spun around the whole crystal glass, prunts of iridescent golden frits, PN II-4484 (21 cm tall, auction preview).
Vase, Ausführung 2, crystal glass with crystal threads in horizontal and vertical arrangement, no prunts, PN II-4567 (18 cm tall, Glasmuseum Passau).
Vase, Ausführung 3, crystal glass with crystal threads in horizontal and vertical arrangement, three prunts with iridescent gold frits, PN II-4477 (21 cm toll, my collection).
