I love these old bottles because they still have the label on them. The bottle labeled "Short Stop Coughs Colds" is thought to be special as bottle collectors tell me they have not seen one with a label. This label was in better condition before our home was flooded last year during a hurricane. I'm just grateful that it survived.

They all look to date to the first twenty years of the 1900s, though the far right Brazilian Oil may be the oldest and could date from the 1890s based on general characteristics.

That Baby Elixir was probably quite popular with grandpa too! Nice collection!

My own father used to tell me to give my children a spoon full of whiskey when they cried. It made me wonder what my grandparents did to him, when he was a baby and what he might have done to me. Looking at these bottles, I see what we were doing to the babies now and it's very strange.
