This 2 1-4"W goldtone fish brooch has a pastel green & yellow enamel body with one red eye and rhinestone accents. By BSK from 1955-1960, as seen and described on front cover of the book Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 by Julia Carroll
Love your angles here, as if you photo'd it in an Aquarium and the last photo alas, it has been fileted !~
Great fishy shape, and I love the back view!
I haven't seen a fish as pretty as that in a while. It's like an aquarium fish with the flowing fins (a beta?...-which are really beautiful) and the ribbon looks like it's part of him- but his tail looks like it's missing a little bottom fin? Or else the design didn't add one in...?
What a happy goldfish in spite of having had another fish bite on fin off . He is gorgeous !
Thanks to all for kind love & comments

Phil thank you for the great compliments on my pix, I just love to swoop little fish around to make them appear to be swimming. And yes, lol, it certainly looks like the maker filet boned the fish in back, thank you for my smile :)
Karen it has quite the swirly shape with a lot of movement - I usually like more rhinestones in a brooch, but the enamel here is quite creative. And yes, the back tells you this fish will be dinner lol! Super compliments thanx so much
Thanks Lauren for the lovely praise and on target noticing the missing half tail fin, that is so true it must have broken off. The flowing ribbon design does make me think of the flashy betta-fighting fish as well, it is about that size too, those fish were so cool to own
Mani thank you for the wonderful compliments it is certainly a happy fishy, I'm so glad you liked it!
Thanks six-0-one for your super compliments & agree this is a rather unusual design but one of BSK's good ones I think, they did some very unique pieces like their My Fair Lady line & I always like to find something different
That is such a beautiful, magical piece????
Thank you Maureen for the love, I am so glad you enjoyed this BSK fish
