This 2" turtle brooch has a white rhinestone & black enamel scalloped shell, with two green eyes & reptilian goldtone accents. By Gem-Craft with their craft + copyright 1970s mark, the co was founded in 1945 in Providence RI

Sweet little turtle design! These are great creatures to depict in arts/sculpture too- they always look so appealing.
I have to say I'm reminded of one such brooch of a turtle I have too(except mine's green and blue) but yours is a very smart looking turtle in black and gold and silver and reminds me so much of those little terrapins(he's probably near enough the same size as one too!)
It's the little things here I adore, the neck, flippers and that tail!!

Yes Lauren, a little terrapin that is a marvelous comparison, this turtle's shell has scalloping on the sides which doesn't really show as I had to take top side pix for bigger images, but I do think the black & rhinestone geometric shell design is pretty cool don't you. Great comment as always my friend
Karen didn't Gem-Craft do a terrific job on the textured appendages, I so agree the detail is excellent here. In jewelry there are SO many turtle designs, I have several but my faves have realism to the body, and a colorful shell is always nice. Thank you for your awesome comment & noticing the reptilian detail
