This was a super find at a shop I've been wanting to check out for months - it was closed when I first saw it back in January.
Made from cased glass, it is light yellow - green with white swirling stripes over a swirled ribbing, which creates a scintillating grid effect - very "op art" before its time!
It measures 8.5 cm tall, 5.5 cm across both the base & cut, polished top rim, with a circumference of around 32 cm.
I think most likely Bohemian origin, possibly Harrach.
Sydneysiders, I can highly recommend the shop I purchased this from, Glass Et Cetera, in Crown Street. The proprietor is a passionate collector of art glass, & the shop is simply stunning!

Many thanks, Bernard - luckily, I didn't actually see this piece through the window back in January! But there was enough tempting eye candy in view to make me extremely keen to drop by as soon as I could manage!
I'll definitely be back there again, just an awesome shopping experience...

I love this décor, Marin, and this is a good sized example too. I have known Welz shapes in this décor posted here.

Have been there many a time. Prices can be a little high I thought but I am very cheap. You’ve done well.

I agree with sklo that it looks like a Welz decor and this shape is often seen in other Welz decors (eg. pink candy stripe, oxblood and white stripe) with the direction of the swirled stripes opposing the direction of the molded shape. Worth considering perhaps?

      Thanks also, apostata!
I've never seen any Palda in real life so what this shop had on display was pretty amazing...

Hi Peggy, yes, was thinking of the possibility of Welz for this piece, also...

Kevin, this is totally in your 'hood! :-)
It used to be a far more regular stomping ground for me but alas I haven't been having as many excursions lately (this is going to change!)

Wow22, Welz has certainly entered my thoughts on this one, & I'm keeping my mind open for sure!

several companies made similar opalescent reverse swirl designs; there are many noted as Buckeye swirl, as Buckeye Glass had an extensive opalescent reverse swirl line. Not sure who may have made this one, but it is a great example.
