Gustave Sherman used to work at Jay Flex, I wonder if he was a salesman there first.
The baguettes are unusual and work well to make a beautiful brooch !~

Phil I am totally thrilled that you liked this brooch, I thought this was a very fine piece from Jay Flex & a lucky find.....still hoping to get more Sherman but it's a bit expensive for me right now. I'm sure Mr Sherman was a great asset to Jay Flex as he went on to create such sensational jewelry. This is a really unusual layered piece, the baguettes are beautifully placed both above & inside the recessed part. Thanks so much for your fantastic praise!

Apparently a simple design but so much in it.
When I first saw this I immediately thought of Sherman. Jay flex is such a beautiful brand too. Sherman worked for Jay Flex so the similarities shine through in this piece. Love the use of the various shapes and sizes of stones and of course that colour is magic! Great Brooch.

Dawn I hesitated to say my thoughts that I felt this was a rather Sherman-esque design and glad you agree, but to know he worked there, maybe he had a hand in its design, as I feel it is one of the loveliest Jay Flex designs I've seen - I too love the various stone shapes & color
