Just got back from another car show. This one is the Route 66 Cruisin' Reunion in Ontario, California. As opposed to the other Ontario. It is actually on Euclid and Route 66/Foothill is about 5 miles north. This is a nicer setting anyway as a park runs along the center of the street. Complete with gazebo.
On to the cars. Is that color magenta? Anyway it is a colorful bug.
Next is a Chevrolet truck circa 1950. They really like Chevrolets at this show.
#3 is a Chrysler Monterey, 1956 I think. Note the curb feelers.
Wrapping it up with bucket T which is ready for Halloween

      fortapache, Cool.

I don't know if I'd call the color of that Bug magenta, as it seems to lack any hint of purple:

I suppose you've heard the poignant news that Volkswagen is discontinuing the Beetle after the 2019 model. Hopefully, it will be be revived as an electric car.

While stopping for gas yesterday, I was listening to a announcement that the VW Line is going to be discontinued??

Nice selection and I would say that is pink!

elanski, I agree about the basic color of the Bug being pink, and while it's difficult to say from a photograph, it almost seems to have a very slight undertone of orange, so I might characterize it as 'coral.'

Brunswick, Yeah, sorry I didn't notice your comment earlier, but VW is indeed discontinuing the Beetle.

More than one article I read hinted that it might come back as an electric vehicle, which makes sense. Anyway, here's a link with some Beetle history and pictures:

Thank you very much Newfld. That is an excellent choice.

Thank you very much Thomas. It seems indeed that the Beetle is history again.

Thank you very much elanski. It is at least mostly pink.

Thank you very much keramikos for all your research and information. For me the Beetle is that smelly little car with no radiator and engine in the rear. 25K does seem expensive for a sedan without AWD.

fortapache, Ha! For me, the Beetle is that charming little car whose heater burned one's ankles.

Thanks for your indulgence, BTW. I have an unfortunate tendency to go off on tangents.

With regard to the color of that pinkish Beetle, I was idly wondering to myself whether its paint job was a custom mix, or a commercially available color.

Anyway, I should probably reserve my tangential observations for my own meandering posts. I have one especially long one now that probably needs an overhaul, because I've gone down so many rabbit holes in the course of my research.

keramikos no problem about tangents. I am thinking the color is a additive mix as opposed to usual subtractive color wheel. How exactly it works I am not sure. Sort of like the blue in the wings of s blue morpho butterfly.
