This boot is about 2.75" high x 2.5" long x 1.25" wide. Kumela Glassworks was founded in the city of Riihimäki in 1937 and was taken over by Humpilla Glassworks in 1976. Information about this studio is sparse. I believe this Wikipedia page is about this glassmaker:

Riihimäki glass (Finnish: Riihimäen lasi) was a reputed glass company in Riihimäki, Finland, in operation from 1910,[1] when it was founded by Mikko Adolf Kolehmainen, to 1990.[2] Their production ranged from basic to high quality[3] glass ornaments, which are now sought after as collectibles, especially some of their vases. Riihimäki products are readily available via collectors' web sites, as are their values.

It produced everyday glassware and art glass until 1976 and cut glass until 1977. After that, it made only glass and plastic packaging. Ahlstrom Corporation purchased the company in 1980, and closed the Riihimäki plant in 1990.

Among the acclaimed designers associated with Riihimäki in its early decades were Henry Ericsson, Arttu Brummer, Gunnel Nyman, and after 1945, Greta-Lisa Jäderholm-Snellman, Aimo Okkolin, Sakari Pykälä, Timo Sarpaneva, Erkkitapio Siiroinen, Nanny Still, and Helena Tynell.

Thanks, Jenni. I use it as window glass on the south side of my house. The blue is striking when the sun hits it.

@renedijkstra - Thanks for your comment. It is a fun piece and well made, too.

Thanks for loving my glass boot Cathyz!

Interesting! I think I paid $.50 or $1 for it at a thrift shop. No idea how it got to the U.S. In looking at the sites in your comment, I found some other Finnish pieces that I have lying around the house.... I will post some, when I get time to clean them up...

      It'd make a way-cute toothpick holder, if nothing else?! :-) :-) :-)

Thanks AnythingObscure! It does pretty well in the light, so it sits on a west facing window ledge in my living room where it catches the afternoon sun.
