I think it is a product of Loetz from the period 1885 - 1890. But Karoatlas also produced other glassworks (for example, Riedel). For Loetz it means the color of glass - bergblau (mountain blue) and painting. Loetz often used gilded relief emails. The same Chinese dragon I saw on a Loetz Carneol vase.
Dimensions of the vase: 24 x 15 cm.
    -------------
Based on photos of other vases made by Harrach from dr. Kai Hasselbach will change my mind that it is Loetz. It is most likely Harrach's production.

Wow - I saw this too - but I thought it was most likely a Harrach piece. Stunning either way!

Is it possible that it is Harrach or also Riedel ??? Let's see, maybe it's going to go somewhere else. But for me, it's more like Letz.

      Hi Ales,
this is a Harrach vase. On one of my posts, about 5 years back, I described this type of dragon, copied from a famous book by Racinet in detail. Please take a look.

      Hi Kai,
you're probably right, it's probably Harrach. Chinese dragon is painted according to A. Racinet's publication "L'Ornement Polychrome" Tab.XII 1872, Paris. However, I have a problem. I certainly saw the Carneol vase (Loetz not Harrach) with the same dragon (relief silver and gold and red eyes). I will try to find the photo. The second problem is using painting techniques - gilded relief emails. Loetz is fairly common, but I did not see it at Harrach.
      Thank you.

According to the Truitt Bohemian Glass volumes, the same artists did do work for various glass houses in Czechoslovakia, it was not unusual to find the same motif and designs in the same style on different maker's art glass pieces. That is why I think identifying an item based solely on application of enamels is not enough evidence for identification. The network of glass masters was too complex, IMO.

      Dear Ales,
concerning gilded relief email of dragons, there exist a quite large number of Harrach made items like 'peach blown' or 'oxblood' decorated vases. I may send some of those examples to your information by email.

Kai, thank you for your photos. You've convinced me that this is the Harrach.
