Yes more exciting vacation photos this time all cars. Route 66 and cars just go together as that is how you get from otel to diner to roadside attraction.
Starting off is a 1950s Buick Police Car in front of Mr D's Diner on Route 66 Kingman.
Next is next door at a custom auto shop. It is a drag racer known as a gasser. I think it is a Ford.
Coming in at number 3 is Studebaker also of 1950s vintage I think. Cody's grandparents are inside.
Wrapping it up is what I believe is a 1947 Buick Special. It is in front of the Cool Springs Station which is the last stop before Oatman. It is a a gift shop and a place for drinks and snacks. Plus a restroom which is nice as it is in the middle of nowhere.

Love the old gasser - I had a '55 Chev.
In the days before Pro Stock....the A/Gas cars were the fastest stock-appearing racers.
They were set high in the front for optimum weight distribution for launching from the start of the drag race.
Gasser name came from the fact that they raced in a gasoline fueled drag racing class rather than one using methanol or nitromethane.

Thank you very much Hoot60. Good to know about the high front end. When Pro Stock became popular several other classes were reduced to bracket racing.

Made it to the #2 spot!
