When I acquired this vase, the manufacturer was unclear. The shape and also the color spoke for Lötz. However, I had not found a glass with a comparable decoration in black and white. The three-digit number in the pontil could be a decor number from Lötz, but it could also be from other manufacturers.
I had the opportunity to show the vase to Jitka Lnenicková and Deb Fitzsimmons, both proven experts in Lötz glass. And both confirmed the attribution to Lötz with their experience. Now also the number 507 can be assigned to a Lötz decor. The vase is 24 cm tall and is also known in tango colors and in Ausführung 157 (black stripes on opal). The black light test proves the fluorescence and thus the basic color Olympia. It dates around 1915/16.
The decor with the heart leaves and stylized bell flowers is typical for the time. Artists of the Wiener Werkstätte also designed similar patterns. However, a relationship of the vase to the Wiener Werkstätte cannot be made.
