Here is a 4"H blue satin glass penguin atop a clear blue glass ice floe by Westmoreland Glass with orig label, the color was named Brandywine blue mist, ca 1970s piece featured in book Glass Animals by D & P Spencer

I though the little sticker at his feet was a hole for him to try and fish through and at first I thought how thoughtful!!! He's a great colour, I adore the bright electric blue tones, definitely giving me frosty vibes! The base is cool too- it's a really nicely sculpted ice rock and in glass looks really great and realistic too!

Super comment Lauren thanks so very much, again I have to hand it to you, that small sticker looks to be a little fishing spot for this penguin esp the dark reflection in the second pic! I really love this bright blue color too, the photos were challenging as due to the top part being opaque vs the clear ice floe base, I wanted to be sure not to lose the detail on Mr Penguin, his round eyes, arms etc. Glad you enjoyed the finished product my friend :)

This is the time of year when our penguin friends usually shine, tho with the global warming the temps are less wintry, and as for the holiday season it is also a bit off this yr - next will be better I'm sure

Thanks yourneverright for enjoying this pretty blue & your very kind comment, the color "Brandywine blue mist" is a new one for me, that's Westmoreland's color name - to me, when I hear the term Brandywine I think of visiting my relatives in Delaware where that name is common, pretty country there
Karen yes, penguins are always a bit comical when you see them scurrying across the ice with those webbed feet and their waddle, they surely are cuties - my faves are the cuddly looking Emperor penguin babies. Great comment as ever my friend, and very fun hearing your cute name for them which is akin to their Brazilian Portuguese name pinguim (I am not Braz-Port but used to have a couple Brazilian cable TV channels due to my love of their winter Carnaval parades, it was an education learning the language & admiring the culture). Stay tuned I have a really cute Brazilian animal my husband brought me back from a business trip which will be posted soon
