Kamei Glass was a huge seller of Japanese glass products from cheap pressed kitchen items to good art glass.
I don't know who made this piece although there are a few names in mind. I need to do more research, difficult as that often is.
Made with the incalmo technique the vase has a cobalt top and neck and the base is clear with fine cobalt and pink stripes.
Although the technique is Italian, to me the colours and shape are very Japanese.
It's a nicely made and attractive piece of glass.
Height is 35cm and diameter 15.5cm.
Circa 1980s
Spectacular vase, the rich cobalt blue glass with circular striping is a delight to the eye
Innate style, whoever made it!
Gorgeous piece !~
Glad I popped in! This vase is gorgeous!!! I'm trying not to purchase anything I really don't need these days but I've ended picking up 2 things that reminded me of you... Odd tho, they aren't vases but they are Asian works of art and when you see the back of 1, you'll know why I picked them up.
Thanks Jenni, Peggy, Phil, and Sue.
I always appreciate your comments!
WOW.Beautiful colors and a nice shape.I found a vase almost exactly like this in a cave that had a Genie in it.Give it s couple Abracadabras and see what happens.Nice find.
The genie had long escaped, no stopper you see!
