It started out a boat show but the cars seemed to take over. But there are still a fair amount of vintage boats. These were the type of boats seen in vintage photos of Lake Arrowhead in the 30s and 40. and 50s. Good news is that you can get a house on the lake for under one million now.

I remember being a poor kid and getting invited by my rich friend to stay in his beautiful "cabin" at Arrowhead in Abt 1949-50 and riding in their beautiful wood boat like this one. It was a Cris-Craft and yes they had a dock, maid, cook, and the works! What a memory for a young kid raised by hard working parents who both came with nothing but hope and promise.

These are beautiful, can you imagine the work it takes to keep these in that condition? Or try restoring one, wow!
My Father was a commercial fisherman, and he had a lot of boats in his years on the water. My favorite was a swordfish sailing vessel called “PennyLynn” named after his first grandchild. Beautiful boat that came out of the water yearly, put on the ways, sanded and the bottom repainted. Was in the movies even. When my Mother wanted him to retire and sell the boat, he did. But then he rebelled and bought another, very fast, more of a speed boat than a fishing vessel, called “Thunderballs”. Lol. He finally came to his senses and bought a smaller boat, “The Flying Cloud”, and kept fishing for another decade. He was on the water over 60 years...

Thank you very much Ms.CrystalShip. I imagine these do take a lot of work. Lake Arrrowhead was in several movies. Saw an old movie set in Cambria yesterday.
