On a FB listing I saw a dish similar to this one today .... but much better. It sparked my interest again and I pulled it out of the 'shed' to take these two photos. I've had it so long I can remember nothing about where I found it nor when.
What really appealed to me was the hot working on the piece .... so beautifully constructed and it sits perfectly on four feet.
It just screams Italy ... I think !!!!
Any comments are most welcome.
It's 26 cm or 10.25 " long.
It's 10 cm or 4" wide.
What a lovely dish, vetraio! Since you ask for opinions, I should have called it a feather, rather than a leaf? Also, I don't know about Italian, it's somehow more European to me. Beautiful glass! :)

I love the dish it's the first I have seen of this type so unusual. Must keep my eyes peeled. I have just been informed that we now have a night markets up this way the only problem is we usually don't do nights. With being kept awake most of the night by my neighbour that just loves to drag his furniture all over the place half the night. He truly is a drongo of a man. I don't know one neighbour that he hasn't p..... o.. excuse my unsaid bad words putting it politely. It's a nice piece Kevin! I went through all my reference books trying to find a match or similar without luck. One things for sure... it's a quality bowl that deserves to be out of the shed :)

It's a bit hard for me at night I have a neighbour that likes to keep me awake at night so I usually sleep in the afternoon otherwise I get no sleep at all. So until he is gone or I move it looks as if it wont be happening.

It does look like a feather but I'd guess that it was intended as a leaf.
My first impression was that it screamed Italy, as it did to you.

I don't like letting jerks get to me & there is also my partner not that he would mind. It's just we had so many long term plans with traveling that we were looking forward to. It now looks as if things will be changing quite soon well not before the next cyclone season has passed at least. If I can put up with him for 2 years another 6 months wont kill me. I hope. Really nice, I think it is a kind of Fern. My grandmother loved plants and had them all over her house. All of the families would go to her house on Sundays after church to eat dinner and hang out. There was a indoor front porch where us kids would play, and there were Fern plants all over the place. I loved them, they were so soft and delicate and this dish reminds me of that.
