I just acquired this large pair of solid bronze Pierre Chenet hares. These are the largest Pierre Chenet bronze pieces I have in my collection. They each measure 14" tall, 8 1/2" from to back and 5" at their widest point. They each weigh over 10 lbs. So, pretty heavy fellows.
Pierre Chenet is an artist from northern France who has created magnificent bronze sculptures since the early 1970's.
He uses his own technique, known as "acid patina" which gives his bronzes a unique color. Each sculpture is unique by its color. So, no two are ever exactly alike. The bronze is usually stamped with the "Crown" of his own foundry.
Hope you all enjoy seeing these large fellows!! And thank you all so very much for stopping in for a look!!!
