    Hello everyone!!
I found this 1930's Parker Brothers Tiddledy Winks game at a local antique show. I believe it may be missing some pieces, but all that's there is still in great condition, especially since it's nearly 100 years old. I remember playing Tiddledy Winks on cold winter days as a child.

Thanks for stopping in for a look!!!
    Scott

Just the name 'Tiddledy Winks' and I'm sitting with my sister on the living room carpet, playing this highly competitive (as high as it gets if you have a really bossy sister) game. We didn't know all those rules though.

      Is he the March Hare?

      Gillian,
I never knew there were rules for Tiddledy Winks (that many anyhow:) I would say he is definitely a March hare, based on the other character on the front of the box.

I also remember this game from cold winter days. Amazing how such a simple little game could keep us occupied. No computers, no cell phones....heck we didn't even have a regular landline yet, no TV and the radio wouldn't come on until evening. Crank the record player up and play tiddledy winks.

Mom loved this game. I love the box and guessed it might be your post when I saw the rabbit design! I used to display my small collection of hares and rabbits at this time of year and then box them up until the next spring. Now my favorites stay out year round!.

      fhrjr2,
Thanks for the wonderful comment!! There were 10 of us kids back then and when it was too cold to be outdoors we all played board games. I miss those times.

      Hi Mary!!
So great to hear from you again! I also pack away a lot of my rabbits and hares after Spring. But, like you, I keep my favorites out year round. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by!

The artwork of "gone-by days" is wonderful in itself.
To find a game a century old in this condition? A miracle at best!
I, too, remember Tiddlely Winks, played for hours, along with jacks, pick-up sticks, marbles, but if the weather was nice, we were outside on the beach. Kids now a days spend their down time on computers, phones.
I believe we had it better, much better :)

By the way, this game first appeared in Parker Brother's 1930 catalog (for 25 cents) and appeared in each catalog thereafter until the 1941-1942 catalog (still 25 cents).

      RickTucker,
A quarter used to buy a lot! A hamburger, renting a raft to ride the waves ( grew up on a beach), admission to the movies ( two movies and a cartoon!), admission into the “Plunge” ( swimming pool). A bag of chips AND a hostess snack! Those days are gone! When I tell these things to my grandson, I wonder if he believes me...now that admission into the theatre for a family is $$$...

I remember when a quarter would buy a soda and a candy bar. I remember when a pack of cigarettes was .45 cents. Now, they're nearly $6.00 a pack.
