I have had this watch for 8 years now, and my research skills must have inproved greatly over those years as last night I was finally able to find out some information about it!
It came with the band which is removeable so you can either have it as a pocketwatch or a wristwatch.....note the little lug on the bottom.
The band has patent dates for nov 24.14 and Feb 13.17 with STURDY for the brand.
I found out that the case was made by P.W.Ellis & Co Canada and it is gold filled. It has the E inside a maple leaf trade mark. "BANNER" I am guessing is the style of the case?
The movement is marked Ethic Watch Co Switzerland and 17 Jewels and Three Adjustments. It is quite pretty to look at!!
I found an online ELLIS catalogue dated 1915-16, I will post the link, where I found a convertible watch like mine on page 15 if you would like to have a look.
The only thing I am not sure of now is the face of the watch which is marked "BEALL".......would this be the retailer's name????
I don't think there is anything else that I can tell you, but I think it is great and it has been ticking away nicely for about 20 hours now, oh it measures 1" in diameter.
Hope you enjoy this one, Thanks, Judy
