This is such!!... a pretty vase and the favourite …at the moment!…:-)

I loved the ‘loving cup’ shape of it and the wonderful floral enamelling as soon as I saw it… and apart from minute nibbles on the rim is in perfect condition.

    Approx...14cm x 13cm or just over 5.1/2 x 5 inches in diameter.

It was advertised as a Thomas Webb which I was certain it wasn’t but! I have been wrong more times than I like to say… soon as I saw it I thought Heckert – Max Rade.... before! I even saw who the seller attributed it to... and myself and a couple of others are 99% sure it is but! we all have that 1% uncertainty mainly because of the colour of the green and have been told maybe Harrach or Moser?...

So!.. will be very interested in hearing your comments!

    Thanks for looking…..:-)

I never like to say something is 100 percent this or that without a signature, knowing the pattern or the shape...

but with that aside it's one hundred percent stylistically heckert..

But.. Harrach did decorate for Heckert and sometimes you find things that have that same exact heckert look with Harrach signatures. Same with Josephinenhuette.

they're all hand in hand with Heckert though.

You are absolutely safe calling this a Heckert piece.

      Also thank you to...

Heckert often used uranium glass. Heckert often had Harrach blanks :)
    10. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 8 years ago
Uranium content in the glass is not something you can use as a gage for who made glass. Harrach used uranium glass and glass that did not contain uranium for various colors. as did many of the bohemian companies.

I'd say Heckert is a safe bet too, particularly from a stylistic standpoint. I do, however, find the enamel work interesting and unusual in terms of how thick it was applied and raised above the surface. Most of the Heckert/Rade production has enamel that is more flat with the glass surface.

Many thanks for your comments Alfrodo, Greatsnowyowl, Justanovice and cogito, I'm pleased I was right in my initial thoughts!...:-)

@cogito. that is sometimes true, but I have pieces in my collection that display both characteristics sometimes in one piece. they definitely did use a raised technique as well in their pieces.
