    And... One more Bzz Bzz!

    2.7cm by 2.7cm or 1.1/16"

This pinch clip system isn't really handy, but rather rare!

The only mark is a stamped 800.

The seller described it as tiger's eye brooch, but as it is translucent, it is rather another cat's eye stone.

As most of my critters, he has little cruel red eyes!!!

Thank you Martika, it is unusual :-)

Mani, prongs open when you pinch the wings, you fix it on a fabric fold and a flat spring hold them closed in place!

Never seen the clip before, is it almost like a collar clip ?? xo
    16. kyratango kyratango, 7 years ago
Hi Phil! Not sure what is a collar clip...
The prongs are very sharp, the wings are articulated, with a flat spring underneath, and open when pinched.
Thanks for your interest, love and comment!

This is truly beautiful Kyra. The colour especially; but all the other buggy things - like the red eyes (why are they usually red?) Another thing is your photography of this one is a prize winner. Did it take long to set up? I'm so desperate for a camera other than the phone. Keep asking people over to take pics, they all say yes, but it seems like it's like asking people to help you move!

Collars are great places for dress clips, and sweater clips. Could this one be attached to a collar lapel?

Sorry - I always seem to write novels.
    18. Gillian, 7 years ago
He has lovely wings as well. Are they glass, and a seed pearl too. Don't think jeweler would make more than one of these in a day?
    19. kyratango kyratango, 7 years ago
Hi Gillian! I think they usually have red eyes to frighten the wearer, lol, but really don't know why :-)
It is difficult to pinch thick fabric with this system, but a sweater is perfect!

Thank you for the compliment about my pics, but very simple indeed...
I use my smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy 6S, and the Google pictures editor, for light, details and the shadow effect around :-)

On the wings are moonstones cabs and tiny seedpearls, and yes the maker surely not made more than 2 in a day!

David! Nan, il lui manquait une pierre sur une aile... Bzzzz!

Unfortunately all I come up with are the new collar clips though they were popular from the 20's to 50's. Have had several in the past, usually though with a clip on like the old earrings.

    25. kyratango kyratango, 7 years ago
Phil, thanks for your search :-)
I don't think it is a collar clip, the veil pin seems a more appropriate use. XOXO!

Hello Kyratango! It looks like the same "stone" as in my brooch don't you think? I think it's somesort of glassbead.

Just read that you said it's a stone not glass...
    32. kyratango kyratango, 7 years ago
Yep Elisabethan, a stone, cats eye apatite! :-)

Your glass stone has almost the same honey colour!
