    (584 items)

This 18'5 cm tall bowl -a big bowl indeed- has a rare orange and green Rot Flimmer decoration. We identified it as Medina, but the traditional Medina colours are blue and green. The bowl is made in optisch (ribbed) glass, which causes an "underwater" effect when rotating the bowl (or walking around it).

It uses a well known shape from around 1905. We've only seen one more vase, a small one, in this decor.

Post scriptum (8 jan. 2017): This decor has recently been identifyed, that's why I'm changing the name of the post from MEDINA to ROT FLIMMER, as well as editing the text.

      what a beauty Austro
Ive only just noticed that taking the photo side frotnt on 1 & 2 then it looks like a heart. I always love to see the different things thay they build in to these vases...I am starting to see different things in mine as I lok at them each day in different light, placement in the room. We are de cluttering for the sale of my house and I dont want to risk the general public to think they can souvenier my items because they are there. Y'oud be amad at what they try and steal when goig on during an inspection. So this time we arent leaving the house. I'm still digusted in the previous times we sold houses...I've had 4 Art Nouveau Slater patented John Slater vases got lifted by our plumber in the UK. And they do it in such a way by befriending you so you build up trust and next pfft and gawn!!!!
So your beautiful item has ispired me to re look again for my similar adventurines and spatters and rose bowls to see who also has incorporated the heart...I could be stark raving mad but if I see loveliness then I want to share the concept and pass it on...:)
