I have posted before a bowl and basket by Riku Kobo. As I said in my previous post I don't know much about Kobo but I do know his millefiori pieces are exceptional. I date this as somewhere around 1990-2000 when he seemed to be at his peak.
I was so pleased to find this bowl, even though it wasn't a cheap piece of glass.
Interestingly the bowl has a separate black glass base that it sits on, and although not large at 12cm wide it captures the eye.

Wow! What an amazing piece - like a collision between a field of daisies & hard edge abstract painting!
EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT !!!!
Spectacular Kobo bowl, a true work of art - the bright color bars contrast with the daisy millefiori pattern so beautifully. Welcome back Karen!
Thanks for all the loves!
Long time no see people :)
Marin, it is a different take on traditional Italian millefiori styles, and the difference is why I love Japanese glass.
Thanks Kevin, hope you are both well.
Thanks Jenni, I'm happy you love this one!

That base just finishes it off so perfectly!!! I can totally see why you paid more than usual for this, it's beyond gorgeous!!! Excellent find!
Simple and refined, but busy and cheerful - all at once! A marvellous juxtaposition.
