Two months ago now I bought this WMF centrepiece at the Collector's Fair here in Sydney. Not cheap but it definitely was an object of desire many years in the making.
The liner is probably original and in perfect order. When I have come across WMF centrepieces in the past the glass insert was either missing or damaged. The seller had kept this piece for many years and it remained intact. It just needed a good clean.
The WMF marks are on one of the feet. B for Brittania metal, I/O for normal thickness of gilding or silver-plating & OX for oxidised.
I love the Jugendstil whiplash treatment in the lily of the valley design. I've been keeping it for the 600th post here on CW.
