My friends moms car needed a little tlc so they brought it over to me. I had to realign the hood because they couldn't get it to close properly, so I did that and gave her a fresh coat of wax. For payment I got to drive around town for several hours before I took her back to him. Boy you sure get alot of looks with a car like that. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!

That's back when the T-Bird was a REAL car!
Your right, Ford should have never let the T-Bird go to a four seater. The one in the picture is all original, reminds me of the one Suzanne Sommers drove in American Graffiti.
I'd sure look good driving one of these! lol.
You would look great driving this around town with your hair blowing in the wind. No one would be laughing, they would just wish it were them in the car instead of you.
I forgot, thank you Chapeldreamer for your comment
Glad you enjoyed the photo and thank you ChePibe.

Nice thunderbird but I am looking for a 2002 chevrolet corvette ZO6 Avelate. If you have one and want to sell it and I would give it a good home let us know. thanks.
Thanks Sharon for the comment.
Any true Ford lover would love to be cruising in this sweetheart.

You're welcome, I love the old Fords and have more than my share, '62 Galaxie 500 XL, '67 Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop, '64, '66, '74, '77, '90 ford trucks and collecting parts to build a '28/'29 Model A Ford and also a '30/'31 Model A Ford Roadster. Ford =Fine Old Rednecks Dream
My first ford was 1939 ford pickup that me and my brother bought off a preacher in town, it was setting in his front yard. I think we paid $125, Then I had a 65 mustang, 70 and 1/2 ford falcon and in high school order a new 73 Mach1. I worked 48 hours a week threw high school just to have cars.
Thank you MooreAntique.

Thank you kerry10456! My friend that has this car told me to come over and get it again and go have new tires put on it. He said I could keep it for awhile and drive it. I told him to let it get a little warmer out and I would take care of the tires for him. It's such a fun car to drive. Looking forward getting back behind that wheel again and driving around some more this spring. It's a great old Ford!! Thank you all again for all the love on this timeless classic! :-)
When you go pick it up, drop by here and get me , We'll make sure there is no aligment problem that might put undo wear on the new tires.
You got it bro!!
Thank you Philip!
" T " for Thunderbird , " T " for Two, your right it should have stayed with 2 seats but I do like the 58, 59, and 60 too. bottom line it should have never turned into the huge gas gusler it has become. That 57's a car on my list.

Had a red 56 T bird in high school. Got it for $500.00 and now it cost more then $500.00 for a set of tires. Nice thing about the car was you could work on it without a computer and you did not have to basically pull the engine to replace the car thermostat. That old T bird even got better gas mileage then my new ford truck.

Back than you either had a 57 Ford or a 57 Chevy. Loved them both. My first car was a 57 Chevy. It was 10 years old when I purchase it for $50.00 dollars, and sold it a few years later for $50.oo dollars.(hard to believe) to put towards a new 'Chevy/Nova" The car cost approx. $2,000. at that time.(which I took a 3-yr loan to pay off) LOL. I sure wish I had both of them today.
Thank you Kathycat for the love and commenting on the trip down memory lane! All of us have had cars I know we wish we still had. Have a great day! :-)

You're Welcome Michael. You too have a Great Day! Kathy
Love this car official ! It was the first car I ever drove (No drivers permit yet ) I was in a little town with just dirt roads when the neighbor asked if I wanted to drive . Of coarse I did ! I was 15 and he let me drive his t-bird it had a hard top that came off and was white like yours . Boy did I get in trouble because my grandparents saw me driving it . I think I was grounded till I got married :-) Great old memories .
Manikin thank you for taking me down your memory lane! I love your story about the car and your lifetime memory! I can picture you driving that car at the age of 15 with the biggest grin on your face! You have some great memories to share my dear, enjoy your day! :-)

I remember a neighbor got a new 57 bird when I was just 10 years old. It was the talk of the neighborhood . Back then if anyone in the neighborhood got a new car we would all rush over to see it. But it’s funny because I only remember the T Bird from back then. Still see it in my mind today driving down the gravel road with that thunderbird V/8 under the hood.
