    Manikin
    (52 items)

This is a Margit Nilsen 1940's miniature mannequin advertising Brocade design silverware and she was placed in a brocade skirt to lay the silverware on . . The original Ad for photo shoot is my property and one of a kind photo . My dear friend Phil Morris colored it in as it is originally in black and white . She was purchased on ebay and is unusual advertising item for Margit . She is in her original dress and all original painting . I have never seen another like her in my many years of collecting Miniature store mannequins.

    2. PhilDMorris PhilDMorris, 3 years ago
Manikin, you have the finest original collection of Margit Nilsen. After examining the ad and the photos of your piece, it is obvious a piece used for advertising, and likely the original piece used for the ad. I will have to try to colour better again. This is a sensational find and one of a kind, possibly one of your best finds and an original piece of the very rarist kind !~xoxo

I am hoping you may some day, repost some of your other pieces which you bought from the Margit Nilsen estate, mind boggling to see this !!~

It was hard to bring back the faded lettering from one of the most beautiful adwork that I have ever seen.

Many thank you's Phil as you can see the color of her dress when I sent you photo in black and white, I did not add the true color of her dress . I always appreciate your interest in Margit Nilsen and you have supported me in my collecting all these years . Someday I will post more but due to my photo's showing up on other sites I deleted them all but may put one up now and then :-) Love xo

hahaha not gonna happen any time soon...or later either! But then again, you know what is said...never say never!
    25. shareurpassion shareurpassion, 3 years ago
You are right about that! I know they are valuable. But wow, you bought a home! That's cool. I wonder how much that lady made or her kids made when they sold her collection...the one that scared me, I must have been 9, maybe younger. I remember one that was what I know now to be crazed. It had a lot of crazing on it! I remember wondering why she would keep a doll that was all cracked up like that. Then I saw others in what I thought was worse condition. I actually would love to see it today just for curiosity sake. I know now it was very valuable.
    26. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
Some dolls have very little value share and unless that composition doll was one of a few that are worth restoring not a good investment doll. French Bisque dolls are high on list of investment type dolls.,rare hairstyle China dolls and Mint dolls from 50's and 60's can command a big price tag . All dolls are not equal :-)

      REPLY TO MANIKIN
I can do everything EXCEPT load photos It perpetually states "You can add up to 4 photos"--Nothing to click to get the photo loading option up. Dead zone. Every other functions works on the post page, title, description, category, all but the ability to post my pictures. All my old posts are up and running. I am posting on eBay as usual--no problem. Very odd that no one there answers my 3 emails about this problem....Thanks a million for contacting me. I have tried everything. Cheers, Lois in AZ postcardcollector.

PCC Try loading a photo you have put up before . Sometimes I get that glitch and think photo did not load then when I go to add it again I get message wait till other upload is finished . Have you changed size on your photo's ?
    32. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
PCC switch your broswer and try . Not sure which one your using but try a different one ok
    33. bobby725 bobby725, 3 years ago
I`m having the same trouble, even on e-bay, I finally got 2 pics. to come up on e-bay but can`t post any more. I`ve had this problem for almost 2 weeks--frustrating!!!!
    34. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
If your having same issue but it also has affected your ebay photo's bobby that says for sure it is not a CW problem . Have you tried switching browsers bobby ?
    35. bobby725 bobby725, 3 years ago
I`ve tried google and msn, if that`s what you mean, I`m not good at computer problems!
    36. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
You would need google chrome installed on PC and choose it as default browser to try it , When you press your go to the internet icon it will automatically use same browser unless you change it .
    37. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
msm is not a browser it is a homepage . What is the icon you click on to go to internet look like bobby ?
    38. bobby725 bobby725, 3 years ago
Thanks Manikin, I got rid of everything but google chrome-still not able to upload pics. here, I did get 3 pics on e-bay this morning. my son tried last night and again today, he blames it on slow internet, centurylink. Rob
    39. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
Try Internet explorer not google chrome Bobby
    40. bobby725 bobby725, 3 years ago
Manikin, I have no idea how to do that, I don`t want to mess anything up.
    41. Manikin Manikin, 3 years ago
I don't want you to mess anything up either :-) If you have google chrome you click on a orange circle if you have internet explorer it is a blue E you click on that is all you have to do to switch .
    42. bobby725 bobby725, 3 years ago
Thanks manikin, I just talked to my son, he said that the blue e was where I was originally, so I went back on it and tried to upload with no luck. He says that it`s probably Centurylink and our location and to just keep trying. THANKS for all your help!!!! Rob
