This is an interesting pocket watch that I think dates to the 1950s.
Luxor were a Swiss watch company that were taken over by Zenith.

I have called this little pocket watch a swing watch because of the way it opens and closes, but I would be happy to know the correct name for this type. It moves quite freely with thumb movement as you hold it in your hand, so would be a one handed watch to view.

It's a nice clean faced watch in what appears to be a brass watchcase, that swivels inside a leather covered brass pocket case.

Any information about it would be gladly received thanks all!

Pretty cool watch. Was Zenith the electronic company?

Interesting watch. I have not seen one like this, but I would lean towards identifying it as a "purse" watch. A watch a lady would carry in her purse.

Really nice, and an unusual way to carry it from an unusual country !

I've never seen one of those - fab!

Thanks Roy! I don't know if it's the same Zenith or not, but the Zenith here is a Swiss watch company.

Thanks for the info Dave. I'm surprised you haven't seen one before; glad to introduce a new thing to an expert!

Thanks Jan, I think you are on the right track there. Same colour too lol!

It is unusual Phil. Glad to hear from you, as usual!

It was a relatively cheap piece too Bonnie, although not in your realm!! Thanks :)

This is a really neat piece that from the outside looks like some kind of Swiss knife except a watch pops out instead of the usual screwdriver and can opener

      Thanks Jim, it's very quirky.

Karen, this is similar to your watch:-)

      a Cartier example:

Karen they are different companies. Zenith electronic is part of the LG brand Zenith fine made swiss watches is not related.

Thanks Judy and TallCakes. The watch I have doesn't seem to be gold at all (drats!) and I think that my watch is a basic model that is the same pattern as used for the Cartier model. My face has different numbers. Thanks for the efforts in searching on it!

Thanks Roy, I knew of the Zenith watch company; it's good to know the other one is nothing to do with it.

I'm happy to see by TassieDevil's link, that it was described as a "purse watch". I was puzzled by the hole in the stem (photo #2) and thought maybe it was for a necklace, but glad to see it was for a tassel.
A nice unique piece for your collection.

      Thanks again Dave.
I was glad to see the answer to the hole also, and to have a better name for the type of watch. It's a pity it's not Cartier, but then I wouldn't use it! It keeps good time.

Cracking watch. Thinking out loud it could have been suspended on a chain or could have had a finger ring attached. Neil
